Some of the most beloved Lake Norman holiday events haven’t posted their 2025 details yet, but these long-standing traditions are expected to return. Keep an eye on official town calendars for announcements closer to the season:

  • Mooresville Christmas Parade — A cherished small-town parade featuring floats, bands, and Santa. Traditionally held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. 

  • Christmas in Davidson — Downtown Davidson glows with lights, live music, horse-drawn carriages, and the Giving Tree Village. Usually the first weekend of December. 

  • Birkdale Village Tree Lighting & Birkdale on Ice — Huntersville’s holiday centerpiece with a massive tree lighting celebration and a seasonal outdoor skating rink. Traditionally kicks off in late November. 

  • Light Up Cornelius — A community tree lighting celebration with carriage rides, Santa visits, and kids’ activities. Traditionally held the last weekend of November.
